Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (freshly ground if possible)
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 4 lb cabbage, chopped into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup yellow onion, diced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
Instructions
- Wash and chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces.
- Dice the onion.
- Heat the butter in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the chopped cabbage and all seasonings to the pot.
- Pour in the chicken broth and stir to combine.
- Cover and simmer over medium-low heat about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Once the cabbage is tender, stir in the apple cider vinegar.
