Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb chicken breasts
- ½ tsp cracked black pepper
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 3 garlic cloves, divided and minced
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup fresh chopped spinach
- ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 ½ cups marinara sauce
- Extra parmesan for topping (about ¼–⅓ cup)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, chopped spinach, shredded parmesan, 1 clove minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix well.
- Place chicken breasts in the baking dish in a single layer.
- Season chicken with sea salt, cracked black pepper, and the remaining 2 cloves minced garlic.
- Spread the ricotta-spinach mixture generously over each chicken breast.
- Pour marinara sauce evenly over the chicken and topping.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- During the last few minutes of baking, sprinkle extra parmesan on top and return to the oven until bubbly and golden.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
